About this property

Welcome to Quality Inn JFK Airport Rockaway Blvd

Situated at 153-95 Rockaway Blvd in Jamaica, New York, Quality Inn JFK Airport Rockaway Blvd is a straightforward 3-star hotel designed primarily for travelers needing convenient access to JFK International Airport. Located just a short drive away, the property offers an airport shuttle service running hourly to the nearby airport's Federal Circle, which several guests found particularly useful for quick layovers or arrivals.

The hotel provides basic but comfortable accommodations, with clean rooms, functional climate control, and moderately sized bathrooms. Guest reviews highlight a warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with attentive and helpful staff. While some noted the property is older and experiences constant traffic noise due to its proximity to major highways and the airport, the facilities such as free breakfast and shuttle service add practical value for transient visitors.

This establishment tends to attract airport travelers rather than tourists looking for extended stays in New York City. The nearby area provides easy access to major city attractions like the Brooklyn Museum and Empire State Building, although the hotel itself is better suited for short stays. The neighborhood is LGBTQ+ friendly, which adds to its inclusive environment.

Visitors looking for a budget-conscious hotel with essential amenities near JFK will find Quality Inn JFK Airport Rockaway Blvd a reasonable option. It offers dependable service for those seeking rest and convenience over luxury, with check-in from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Reviewers generally recommend it for overnight stays tied to air travel but caution that it may not meet the expectations of guests seeking a quiet, full-service city hotel experience.

I stayed here for an overnight connection at JFK and had a great experience overall. The location is perfect, about 5 minutes from the airport. I took an Uber there but for connecting flight I used their airport shuttle that runs every hour, from Quality Inn to JFK. The room was very clean, the bed extremely comfortable, and the bathroom surprisingly large. It was freezing in New York during my stay, but the in-room climate control worked perfectly and kept everything warm. Breakfast is included, but you do need to come early for the best selection. Bonus: there’s a Burger King just a 2-minute walk away. A few things to note: the in-room AC/heating unit is loud, even though it heats very well. Because the hotel is close to JFK and major highways, you’ll hear constant traffic regardless of the time of day. Also, the water pressure in the shower is on the weaker side, although the hot water never runs out. Overall, this is an excellent choice if you need a clean, warm, comfortable place for an overnight stay before or after a flight. Not ideal for a long New York vacation, but perfect for airport convenience.

Please note that this review is relative to a hotel of this type. Quality Inn was a great stop for our long layover. Rooms were warm, beds were comfortable, water pressure was perfect and hot. Plus, free shuttle to/from the airport, and free breakfast! Would stay again.

I had a positive 4-star experience staying here overall. The service was a definite highlight, earning a solid 4-star rating for being attentive and helpful during my visit. Both the rooms and the location were dependable and met the standard 3-star expectation I had for a convenient stay near the airport.

Pros Old and run down but clean. Free airport transfers Continental breakfast There was a confusion where to wait for the airport shuttle service. We checked with the most lovely lady at the Welcome Desk JFK International Airport Terminal 4. We had to take the free Airtrain to Federal Circle for hotel shuttles. When we got there, we weren't sure if we had to just wait for the hotel bus or call them. A kind driver from Comfort Inn made the phone call to the hotel for us. We were concerned about having to carry our luggage up to higher floors in the hotel as it says there's no elevator in the reservation. The shuttle bus driver who picked us up helped to put our luggage into a small elevator and sent our luggage down to a lower floor where our room is. The best part is the proximity to Flushing, Queens which is the New York City's largest Chinatown. We had twin lobsters ($29.99) at Long Yu Seafood Restaurant. The best and direct way to get to New World Mall is using two buses, Q6 & Q44-SBS and it takes an hour. It was much cheaper than on the way there when we took a bus, NYC Subway's E train and NYC Subway 7 train. Initially, we were worried about leaving our bags in the lobby without any security locks. However, the morning receptionist, Saravjeet, was lovely. She assured us that our bags will be safe and there's a security camera and she will keep an eye on the bags. With her assurance, we had peace of mind and were able to spend the day out. We also had a spare lock to attach both our bags together. We ate at Burger King. I enjoyed the Crispy Onion Whopper. The N Tandoori Indian Kitchen was highly recommended but we didn't end up going. The hotel airport shuttle bus leaves on the hour and dropped us back at Federal Circle. Prabh, a friendly chap, took us to the airport. Some staff were warmer than others. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to stay overnight near the airport and not having too pay an arm and a leg for the accommodation.

Honest review from someone who worked in hotels for 10 years for Marriott & Hilton. & someone who said “screw it, I don’t have a car, I need a shuttle to JFK after I take the train to NYC. Let’s use Priceline and see.” Then I clicked “book non-refundable room.” THEN I read the prior reviews. And I was actually pleasantly surprised. TL;DR: As of 2/13/26, the hotel is in the middle of a major renovation. Not sure if they got new owners or management, but they’re working on it. Staff was friendly. And yeah, there’s a couple things that could be better - it was good for a quick overnight near there airport to lay your head. I checked in 2/13/26 - 1 night to stay near JFK. Entering the lobby, it’s clear the building is under a SUBSTANTIAL renovation - the snacks had construction supplies near it, the check-in/front desk agent and computer set-up been moved temporarily while they were wiring up lights. My room wasn’t immediately ready, the desk agent was friendly, polite, and seemed genuinely apologetic. I went for a walk to 7-Eleven, when I came back they were waiting on towels to complete my room. Again, she was apologetic. She even checked the room personally because a the housekeeping supervisor was busy (for those who don’t know, this is actually not unheard of. Usually, there are two agents working though. But at any hotel/motel worthy of having a brand affiliation, someone will check the housekeeper’s work.) The lobby setup is a little odd, but it’s not the worst thing in the world. You enter on the ground level to the lobby, then go down about 8-9 steps (there is a wheelchair elevator) to the breakfast area & just beyond is where rooms begin for the 1st floor. There are a couple luggage carts in the breakfast area. Entering the room, it really did almost look like the pictures. The bed is firm enough, with a little give - it was actually quite comfortable. The linens were literally brand new (the sheets had some loose strings that still hadn’t worked their way out yet, haha). The room was overall clean, smelled nice, and the temperature was set to a reasonable degree. The blinds have obviously been replaced since prior reviews. The room was a little on the smaller side, but they truly did their best to make it functional and easy to maneuver through. Surprisingly, rather than squeezing in another parking spot adjacent to the lobby, they have a nice little gated patio area with tables & chairs. It was also surprising they kept a good amount of it shoveled and cleared off for guests to access despite the recent big snowstorm. Breakfast, at least on Saturday was 6:00-9:00. It was simple, but it was similar to other select service hotels. Coffee, OJ, tea. Make your own waffles, breads, a toaster was there, previously frozen looking croissants. 3 types of cereals in containers, a couple types of yogurt. Some jams/jellies, and butter. As for the shuttle, it runs hourly starting at 4:00am. You go to the lobby 10 mins before the hour. Contrary to prior reviews, the driver was friendly. I asked both him and the desk agent for advice on the time to leave & head to the airport, and (for obvious reasons) he was the one who provided the local knowledge I was looking for. The ride is about 7-8 minutes to Federal Circle, where you board the AirTrain. Now for the cons/constructive feedback. The door has no soundproofing from the hallway, I wish they’d add a floor sweep on the inside bottom of the door & some thin insulation strips in the door jamb to make the sides of the door not have an obvious gap that light and sound easily come through. There was a hole in the wall from an old bedside wall mounted light’s wiring that hasn’t been patched yet. Some of the wallpaper is missing in the bathroom, and housekeeping didn’t sweep behind the bathroom door - there was obvious debris. The tv options were very limited, only about 8 or 9 channels worked. The hot water didn’t last too long, and I showered at 6:00am on a Saturday, so I doubt many others were (there was nobody waiting for the hourly airport shuttle’s 6:00am run).
